Gallura, in the north of Sardinia, is home
to the best Vermentino terroir in the world. Renato's vineyards in
alta Gallura are planted on granite at almost
1000ft above sea level. Together with friend and oenologist Gianni Menotti,
one of Italy's great winemakers, they craft a wine that balances the
mineral expression of Gallura with freshly cut flowers, tropical fruit
and almond. A white to enjoy with anything from the sea, especially
raw fish and shellfish, and deserving of a few years in the
cellar.
