Collection: Tuscany

Located in central Italy, Tuscany is home to some of the country’s most important wines with a long history dating back to the Etruscans. The region’s premier grape, Sangiovese, features in the three main areas of Chianti, Montalcino and Montepulciano. In addition, and often blended with Sangiovese, are the local grapes Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, Colorino and Merlot, plus Merlot and Cabernets. The latter have found their home in Bolgheri and often feature in ‘Super Tuscans’. When it comes to white wine, Vernaccia from San Gimignano is one of the oldest, whilst Vermentino has become incredibly popular, especially along the coast. Two others, Malvasia and Trebbiano, are used to make the Tuscany’s famous dessert wine, Vin Santo.
