Valpolicella Classico Ripasso 2022

The Speri's presence in this winemaking heartland goes back to 1874, though the original homestead and cellars are even older - 1580!  Valpolicella the wine comes in 4 different styles:
Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto.

Ripasso means to ‘go over again’ and is one of the appellations most ancient traditions. Valpolicella wine is added to the pressing of Amarone, striking a mini refermentation and, after ageing in large casks, becomes a mid way point between the two styles, balancing the richness and concentration of Amarone with the assertiveness of Valpolicella. Dark plum fruit with chocolate and spice, the palate is rich and mouthfilling with a long finish.
