Manna 2021

Dedicated to Franz's wife, Maria Luisa Manna, this is a blend of Riesling (40%), Chardonnay (20%), Gewürztraminer (15%), Kerner (15%) and Sauvignon (10%). The grapes are harvested separately owing to the different ripening periods. Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Kerner are fermented in stainless steeel and the Chardonnay and Sauvignon in barriques. Once fermentation is complete, the young wine is assembled and aged on its lees for ten months. 

When young, Manna is fresh and lively with enticing aromas of elferflower, pisctacchio and rose.  With time in the bottle, the wine becomes richer and more golden with Riesling and Kerner driving the mineral structure.  Manna is adaptable to a variety of foods but works best with richer dishes of shellfish, fish and white meats.
