Barbaresco 'Rocche 7 Fratelli' 2022

This is the flagship wine of Lodali, named after a local fable where the sette fratelli (seven brothers) were working the land and failed to observe a holy day. As a result, the hill collapsed, killing all seven brothers and creating a 7 dramatic cliff faces. The vineyards are Giacone and Ferrere in Treiso and the wine is fermented in cement and aged 18 months in medium sized Garbellotto botti.

The 2022 Barbaresco Roche dei 7 Fratelli is a blend from Ferrere and Giacone, both in Treiso. Aromatic and light on its feet, with lovely brightness, the 2022 is a jewel of a wine. Sweet red cherry, white pepper, chalk and dried herbs are all beautifully delineated in this vibrant yet ethereal Barbaresco. This fragrant, understated Barbaresco is impeccably done. The 2022 was fermented in cement and aged in neutral cask for 18 months. 92 points, Antonio Galloni
