Chiavennasca, the local name for Nebbiolo in Valtellina, makes a lighter framed wine than its Piemonte siblings, built more on finesse and elegance than power and tannins. Umo, aged for a six months in steel and casks, is a beautiful featherlight wine with fragrant strawberry and floral notes, the palate lively with a distinct Alpine freshness.
