The flagship wine of the estate always punches well above its weight and has a great capacity to age. Mostly Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino, it is aged in both concrete and large casks 12-14 months. The fruit in Monti in Chianti is always on the darker side of the spectrum for Chianti Classico, with more plum and black cherry. The palate balances the dark fruit with refreshing savouriness and silky tannins.
