Amaro Hantak is from the Lessinia mountains on the border of Veneto and Trentino. Childhood friends Francesco and Filippo made their first Amaro in 2020, based on locally sourced ingredients. They chose twenty botanicals to exorcise this particularly bitter year (you might remember!) including rue, linden, cinchona, rhubarb, absinthe and gentian. It's super complex and properly bitter with far less sugar than most.
The local area was once home to the Cimbri, an ancient European tribe. The
label features a maraschan (witch) who features prominently in their folklore
and superstition and the bridge of Veja, the largest natural bridge in Europe
and a place rich in history and mystery for the Cimbri.
